Hot Florida Days and Warm Nights

Rhonda and I have so enjoyed our time here in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  We have been able to catch up with family members old and new friends.  We so enjoyed visiting with my cousin Bruce.  Bruce and I were room mates in college and a lot of time was spent laughing and remembering.  Bruce and his partner Carlos were such good hosts and we love them dearly.
We also were able to have lunch with Rhonda's cousin Terry who runs Bike America here.  We had a great time catching up and boy did I learn some history about the Poore family.  Terry's wife is from Columbia and she was home with her dad who is suffering with cancer. We look forward to meeting her in the future.
The days have been really nice but today got pretty hot.  We have enjoyed a great time of eating in great restaurants, visiting with family and friends, attending a Broadway Production of "Mama Mia" and in general getting some down time from school.  We will leave on Friday and head back to Oklahoma City where I will report for school on July 27th with classes beginning on August 1st. I am so looking forward to teaching and beging out of the rat race of the superintendency again.  I can now afford it since I retired in Texas and will be drawing my retirement there and working in Oklahoma as a teacher.  Life is good and we plan on it getting better.

Hugs and love,
Danny and Rhonda Cochran

New Adventures in the Cochran family....

Danny has resigned as superintendent in Darrouzett and accepted a job in Oklahoma City Public Schools.  He starts school on August 1st but teachers actually report July 27th.  Time is swiftly approaching that date.  Danny has rented an apartment in OKC and we have our house on the market.

We are in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on vacation.  We will get back to OKC on July 25th just in time for Danny to go to work.

It is amazing how quickly the summer goes.  We look forward to the new events in our life and will try to keep you posted more frequently.

The New Year in 2011

It doesn't seem possible that another year has come and gone and now a new beginning has arrived with the year 2011.  God has richly blessed our family again this year.  We just completed a wonderful Christmas with our extended family. It was so wonderful to be at Dad Cochran's home for Christmas supper.Brothers and sisters, grandchildren, aunts and uncles, cousins, great grandchildren, and special friends shared together.

We had our children and spouses all home this year and then had a five night trip to Red River, New Mexico to bring in the New Year with Chris and Jessica, Wes and Tiffany, and Caylee.  Wish Clay could have gone as well but work kept him home in big Darrouzett.

As we return home to our busy schedule we are excited about the opportunties that we anticipate in the coming months.  Danny remains as Superintendent of Schools for Darrouzett ISD and Rhonda is the Secretary to the Principal. We will both be working with the UIL One Act Play this year again and look forward to many successes with the students at Darrouzett ISD.

We will be working on our ministries as well this year and hope to be able to share in music and Word with many old and new friends in the coming year.  God has placed a burden upon our hearts to share the Good News to all we meet and win souls for the Kingdom of Christ!  We can only do this with the prayers of friends and family and the blessing and infilling of God's Holy Spirit.  We covet your prayers in this endeavor and we hope to keep you posted about God's ministry in our lives!

We will also be working on many personal goals for this year and we hope to keep our New Year's resolutions.  But most importantly we hope to share God's love and our love to all we meet.  May God richly bless each and everyone of you our friends and family in this New Year!
